Tec Color Craft’s printing shop was Gary Frenkiel’s childhood playground. Since his family moved from their home country of Venezuela to California when he was 6 years old, he began learning English and the keys to success at his father’s newly acquired company.

Gary’s interest in his dad’s screen printing business grew as he started helping out at a young age. A strong work ethic and dedication to excellence instilled in him from his father led him to be a star athlete growing up. Gary excelled at baseball throughout his youth and continued playing at UCLA. After completing his studies there and Cal State Fullerton, Gary went on to work full-time in 1975 at Tec Color Craft in Sales and Product Development.

He valued the years spent working alongside his father who was truly the best in the industry. Always leading the way with the company’s mission to put people first while delivering the highest-quality products in the printing industry.

It was time for Gary to take over operations after his father’s passing in 1983. He quickly realized that he had big shoes to fill with his dad’s stellar reputation and admiration throughout the industry. New levels of challenges forced him through a sharp learning curve. With his 3 young children, Kristin, Blake, and Andy, always on his mind, Gary made it his personal mission to perfect TEC’s core foundation for his family’s continued legacy.

After the first 10 years, Gary found his groove as President of the company with a continued commitment to leading the printing industry with the most innovative products and processes. His long-term accomplishments began here with a dedication to value every relationship and a promise to empower all people with support and care.

As the President of TEC, Gary is still very active with operations. When he’s not working he spends his time with the people he loves most, his family as well as his girlfriend, Cathy. All of his hard work is well rewarded by traveling the world with Cathy to amazing places and visiting Italy as often as possible. Gary is proud of his work family, and his 3 children and 6 grandchildren bring him more joy than he ever imagined possible.

With impeccable leadership, Gary has continued to solidify lasting opportunities for Tec Color Craft’s valued employees, clients, and partners for generations to come.

40 years of hard work was finally starting to show. Since we are located in Southern California, also the headquarters of the action sports industry, it was a natural fit to jump into that market. Years of networking led us to become the go-to custom printer for vibrant and resilient promotional stickers and decals.

Our team was growing along with our business and it came time to move into a larger space. With a big vision for the business, Gary Frenkiel led construction plans for our newly purchased 38,000 sq ft. building in La Verne, CA. TEC officially moved headquarters in 2002 where we still operate today as a family-owned business with 46 employees.

We officially solidified our place as a leader in the custom printing industry. With our quality products and exceptional customer service, we were ready to take on more.

There’s no changing the fact that TEC’s first love was screen printing. But when digital printing hit the market we jumped at the opportunity to provide customers with advanced custom printing solutions.

Digital printing gave us the ability to print smaller orders that didn’t meet screen printing minimums. We could print digital art with more colors. Print faster. Print large, high-quality banners. Print precise digital production proofs. The opportunities for our clients seemed endless. We were sold after we began using large format printers for custom motorcycle graphics and went all-in with a big investment for banner production.

The footprint for screen printing banner presses was massive. Digital presses suddenly had a much smaller footprint and were a lot cleaner to operate. This gave us more space to add new equipment that would expand our product library to fill in the gaps in screen printing capabilities.

Digital technology has developed over time and at TEC we will always evolve to offer the most impactful printing solutions for our clients. We are proud to stay at the forefront with the latest and greatest digital equipment.

Planning for continued growth, it was time to create a Quality Management System that set new standards for the future. We redefined what it meant to operate as a printing house with complete customer and employee satisfaction. With a commitment to excellence, we received our ISO 9001:2015 Certificate.
